With spectacular views across the Iblea, including the lake of Santa Rosalia, the castle offers 600 mq of ‘palazzo nobiliare’ and a further 500mq of outbuildings, barns, stalls and stables  around a  second courtyard.  The principal building sits on a south facing courtyard, open on one side and flanked by a chapel.  The main house is largely on one floor, and has floors in pietra pece, and soffitte a volte.

The 50 hectares of farmland is largely planted with olives, carob and almond trees. At present the property is reached by a white road, but there is the possibility to create a new entrance which would connect with the road towards Comiso ensuring easy access to the new airport.

The price requested is 3.5 million euros.

The property was built by a Marchese at the end of the 19th century as a summer home, and was designed by himself in gothic and renaissance style.  The personal quarters of the Marchese were blocked from the rest of the castle by an iron door which, together with a sentinel on the roof, and another in the garden, protected the Marchese from intruders.  The peace and tranquility of the property is tangible, views are of gently rolliing hills, a lake and olive groves, as well as the grotta of Santa Rosalia which until a few years ago was the centre of a pilgrimage every 4th September.
